I’ve been having a problem with my Alone in the Dark disc from Gamefly. It’s not that it’s scratched but I get the white screen that says to put the disc into an XBox 360. I’ve cleaned the disc and the laser lens. My other games work fine.  Has anyone had this problem and has it lead to a coffin?

I’ve had this issue with a disc or two but they were rather ratty-tatty so I took them back and got replacements that worked fine.  If the disc is good I’m not sure what could cause it...  Is it every time or only occassionally?

It happens only when I play that game and it’s happened about four or five times. I sent it back to Gamefly and am waiting on a replacement. I just hope I don’t have to get it repaired. I’ve had good experiences with Sony and their replacement system and as much as I enjoy my 360 if this one goes I’m seriously considering a switch.

if it treats it like a dvd with a white screen and different languages, it could be the laser, you may just need to run a dvd cleaner disc in the 360.  if you have your 360 around smokers or are one yourself, that will definitly dirty it up so be sure to run dvd cleaner disc. 

if problem persists (mine still does this, i have to power on/off, but i’m just too lazy to swap the lasers out) you could even just replace the dvd drive there are guides all around the internet on how to (IF YOU ARE UNDER WARRENTY, DO NOT REPAIR LENS / DRIVE AS OPENING 360 WILL VOID WARRANTY) sorry, figured disclaimer was necessary

Thanks Psy, it’s been fine lately and hasn’t happened since I get a new copy. I’ll just keep an eye on it and if it gives me trouble I’ll get it repaired. It’s still under warranty.
