Just an update on the status of the website, and whats going on...

1. Forums: Members voted that they wanted the forums addressed first before anything else.  They are pretty much operational with some minor tweaking needed to look good in all browsers, and the phpbb removed from the banner and we are set.  There are mods that will be added to increase security of the forums, and later fun mods for the forums.   We are waiting for Don aka Admin to get back from vacation and we will try and do a hot switch of the forums.... keep your fingers crossed that the user database transfers over smoothly; I manually added every member into a new database and it should make it so everyone will just need to update their profiles, but not re register.

2. While waiting for the final forums to be finished the Staff have been working on creating some fun contest... we will have a Battlezone 360voice challenge up and running, and a Steel Series contest coming soon... waiting for the new forums to be in place as I expect a bunch of new members arriving to sign up for the contest. Our official rules are now listed in the contest forum as a sticky.

3. Skype.... all staff are now going to use Skype as our main communication since it has wonderful features that will allow us to get in touch, keep in touch, and hold online meetings etc. My Skype is gameaholica... go figure.

4.  Gamers Hub TV...  I have been working on creating a good library of videos on YouTube and had plans of doing video reviews that we could show online.  I discovered a great web based provider that will allow us to actually have our own TV Station online, we can have our own channels for Gaming Reviews, Gaming News, etc.   Anyone interested in working on this.. let me know please. I already embedded the startup into my MySpace page... if anyone wants the embed code you can get it from the link before or I can PM it to you.

5. Gamer’s Hub Mascot... " A spazzed out gamer mashing on a controller" is in the works as I type this by a cartoonist who has some very nice work.  Once the staff and I agree on a final mascot... we will most likely have a "name the mascot" contest....

6. General Info... We now are over 60 members, and the forums and website almost always have someone visiting.  We have an EXCELLENT group of staff and members working hard on making this the BEST gaming community out there.  Pats on the back all around for those who continue to contribute by visits, contributions, and feedback.

Finally I would like to welcome everyone to The Gamer’s Hub ans sincerly thank you for being here !!! (Oh, and davedough and I need some fresh competition in the "guess the movie" thread in the general discussion forum)
