Available now for the 360 is the playable demo for BF: Bad Company.
I checked this out last night and was reasonably impressed. The download is 1.5 Gigs and includes the first level of the single player campaign as well as a single multiplayer map. The new game type called "Gold Rush" is a cool spin on capture the checkpoint games. And the destructibility of the map itself opens it up for new tactics. The vehicles are easy to use as well. I highly recommend y’all check this one out!
I gave the demo a little try, but I guess I need to give it more time. I was really put off by the vehicle controls, as they really are horribly mapped, in my opinion. Simply put, there’s a reason why right trigger accelerates and left trigger brakes on most games.
ya, definitly give it time, the controls are awkward but once you get accustomed to it... the game is a lot of fun.
i played the beta with another map, the one in the demo was my favorite out of the two for the first half of the beta time, then i started to prefer the other map. cant wait to play the other game modes / maps / etc
hopefully some more people will consider picking this up, would love to possibly get some gaming in on this on a regular basis with people.
definitly a fun game especially with team work and not a french guy "GET OUT OR I NO DRIVE TANK, MY FRIEND GUN OR WE NO MOVE" or the occassional team killer... so a little group would definitly be fun to get going on this.
I was trying to transfer this to LIVE corner, since this is the perfect topic for that thread, but I don’t know how to do it. Anyways...
In my opinion, the advantage this has over COD 4 is the large maps and vehicles. But I don’t see much difference. Why do I need a jump button? Why can’t "A" be a simple action button for climbing over obstacles or hugging the walls for cover. Again, another shooter without a cover system or blind fire. This is a major flaw.
The single player campaign...what’s the point of the squad? I drive, you shoot. Whay can’t you drive and I’ll shoot. And when I’m on the ground, I’m always on point, why bother having a squad at all. These guys got to be some some ort of special commando unit. Can all infantry guys drive all manner of military vehicles? Hmmm. Another flaw...the campaign has no co-op. Why bother putting such needed innovations in? They won’t bother, because people will buy this anyways. So why change the formula?
While I was playing the single player, it just made me look forward to the Brothers in Arms game. I’m not sure if it will have co-op, but at least there will be squad commands. In this demo, I couln’t flank, the squad always followed me.
I know I won’t buy this title. But if a lot of you guys play it, I might rent.
The major flaws I found in COD 4 is the same here.
Hey developers...we are playing next gen...where’s my customization?
well i was a big fan of Battlefield2 and i have to say the meat of the game was the multi player, single player was not very good at all. With that said mulit player was awsome, and never got boring with so much different ways to play. The gunner on the tanks is now protected and players in the back of the tank are protected and can fire thru the windows. Now with destructible buildings flushing out enemys from hiding is easy ( i love driving the tank). I will be getting this game for sure.
games like gears and rainbow six, the duck and cover is not a requirement to gaming, just because more and more games are picking it up because gamers are becoming whiney and predictable which is why we are getting crap games in the first place. BFbc may have some flaws in it, but the multiplayer and having a nice group of people to strategize in open field combat rather than hiding all the damn time. THIS IS WAR GET OUT THERE AND FIGHT lol
I know this is off topic... but its kind of on topic with the last couple of post. I am noticing this problem some what in CoD 4 online... some people just camp to get kills on objective games like Headquarters or Seach and Destroy which just irritates me. Happens a lot on CounterStrike:Source for PC also.
