The newest FF game I’m aware of would be Crystal Chronicles, and in typical series fashion it isn’t really worth playing. While I am generally opposed to SquEnix games lately, I immensly enjoyed The World Ends With You.

I can’t think of any other ones off the top of my head.

Well, with the Wii there isn’t any "trying out". My Life as King is meant to be a city builder sort of game that SquEnix plans to nickel and dime people with, so it’s not exactly something I’m too interested in. The DS game’s main problem is that the single player is nothing to write home about, making it really only interesting as a multiplayer game.

I would also recommend Professor Layton and the Curious Village. It’s a very enjoyable puzzle game with some wonderful art direction and style.

The Phoenix Wright series is a pretty neat play through, though its better to rent if you can as there isnt much replay value.

Final Fantasy: CC for the ds is meant to be played with friends much like those that came before it. If you want a single player RPG, Final Fantasy: 3 or THe world ends with us are both good choices.

Final Fantasy: CC My Life as King is sort of a different experience. Its like an RPG from the eyes of a king instead of an adventurer. You basically help your followers along and get the things available that they need (like items and abilities) so they can explore further and get you the materials you need to make the city grow. Its fun to play for just the 1500 Wii points and the Pay and Play expansions arent all that much and add replay value. The $15 version is also way better than most 50 dollar games you would play and is also pretty deep. Its a good game if "Final Fantasy: Sim City" is your idea of an interesting time.
