This is reposted from my thread over at the old clan site:
PAX Schedule is as follows:
Friday, August 29th - 2:00 PM to 3:00 AM
Saturday, August 30th - 10:00 AM to 3:00 AM
Sunday, August 31st - 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
3-day passes are currently $45. At the door it will be $50.
On hotels.com, the best price I can find for a room with two double beds is between $125 a night at the Seattle Pacific Hotel. It’s near Seattle Center and is in walking distance to the convention center (1.6 miles). They limit rooms to only two people.
The same hotels have a parking surcharge of $5 a day. If we drove, we would have to check-out on Sunday and then park over at the convention center all day.
For those of us in that live in Washington we can either carpool, or take the Sounder. I think I’d rather carpool.
If two people shared a room, it would be about $130 each, $45 for the pass, and maybe $10 for Sunday parking. Maybe $100 dollars for food. I’d say the PAX would cost about $300 dollars a person for the entire weekend.
Expensive weekend, but this is something we can discuss.
We need this covered for the website if possible.... Outlaw, you still up for it? I think you already agreed before.
Basically report from the show with updates after the day is over if possible. I know you guys had some good photos last year. Sure there will be net access if someone has a laptop to send info on.
The Articles will be: PAX day 1, PAX day 2, PAX day 3.
If you have a nice camera phone and have something of importance that should go in the website news immediatly you guys could send a picture and I could call you to get the scoop.
An alternate to a hotel would be staying at a hostel. The Green Tortoise is near the convention center but I’m not sure of the price per night. It’d be significantly cheaper than any hotel in the area. I know it accepts reservations but space is limited. Just an option...
