BioWare to consider iPhone development

BioWare to consider iPhone development

BioWare’s co-CEO Greg Zeschuk has revealed that the company is considering developing games for the iPhone.

Referring to Apple’s device as a big "cultural and technical success", Zeschuk told MTV’s Multiplayer blog that BioWare has to "take a close look at" developing for it.

"We look at every platform that comes along. Obviously, something that’s as big a cultural and technical success as the iPhone is something you really got to take a close look at. Certainly, there’s nothing written in stone yet but we’ve got a lot of folks looking at it," he said.

"It’s intriguing. I think one of the things that we’ll have to see how it shakes out is what type of consumer buys games on it and what type of experience they’re looking for. You want to always mash the consumer experience with what you’re building. We want to understand what people are going to do with it. Who knows. We’re definitely looking at every platform."

BioWare’s Mass Effect was the last title the developer released before being bought by EA last year. The developer has since announced it is working on the upcoming Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood for the Nintendo DS as well as an unnamed MMORPG and unnamed LucasArts project.

Meanwhile, former EA mainstay Neil Young, announced he left the company to form his own mobile games publisher, specifically focusing on the iPhone.
