$10,000 game art contest for X-Blades
Posted by davedough, 168 days ago Jun 20, 2008 16:31

In efforts to promote their upcoming anime-inspired action game, SouthPeak Games, together with Gaijin Entertainment and TopWare Interactive have announced an artwork contest calling upon the great artistic talents of gamers out there. In this contest, $3000 is up for grabs for a first place entry along with the chance to win one of 20 game packages valued at $200 each. In addition, winners will have their artwork published in the official artbook for the game.

This contest is a follow-up contest to one they had previously held. The developers claim to have received such a positive feedback from this endeavor, that they felt it necessary to hold another contest to find all of the game’s talented fans. The theme of the contest centers around the game’s main heroine Ayumi, a scantily clad, sword weilding heroine. Artist who can depict her in her best light will be judged by a panel and awarded first, second and third place prizes.

Artists not in the top 3 also have their chance at fame as the company will award $100 each to entries that are deemed creative enough to be featured in their Royal Edition X-Blades artbook. Entry details can be found on their website. http://www.x-blades.com.

X-Blades will be released on multiple consoles and the PC later this year.
