Age of Conan looks interesting, but I’ll pass on the PC game.  I’ll wait for the console version.

Yeah, I looked at Age of Conan as well but not much in a game if you don’t have anyone to discuss it with.  It looks like a very good game just has some high demands for minimum requirements.

So let me get this straight.  There is no monthly access fee for your game Knight?

There is no monthly access for guildwars, the world works is a bit like battle.net for diablo, except the channels are towns instead and you can trade / make new parties, etc. Then once you enter the world outside a town it becomes and instance that I believe is hosted on the strongest or host computer. This keeps server costs down as the only part of the world that needs hosted is the towns so the game is made free with expansions released every once and awhile. The expansions work a bit like magic the gathering though, once a new expansion comes out, the cards you have could still be good, but to make the best build you need the new expansions as some cards become obsolete. However, it isnt neccessary to buy them all either as I still only have the first game and can hold my own in pvp. I just cant make some builds that are desired in most parties, like a healing monk (most of the good healing spells are in the expansions).

sort of like PS3 does when you go online? I take it a healing monk isn’t a fighter but a Priest type?  I guess it’s time to look into the characters and classes

It can be both actually.  You get to have two classes in the game.  You can have the ability to fight and heal.  I have the strategy guide I can send you if you wish.

I’ll do some research on it as soon as I get my graphics card.  Kind of on stand still until we move this month.  They keep pushing back the move date on us.

I recently dropped WoW off of my list and was thinking about picking up LotR, but again, I dont like the monthly fee. It got to the point to where I was only playing WoW about 1 to 2 hours per night and thats not enough to really do anything.. especially warrant the price tag per month. I’ve been looking heavily into Guild Wars and seeing that there are some common folks out there that play to, I just might make the purchase.

My wife MMO’s with me all the time, she and I sit on our laptops beside each other on the couch and play. I have a new HP with a dual core, so I’m not too worried about it, but she plays on an older P4 Dell D610 with 64Mb of video ram and 2Gb of system ram. Would she be good to play GW?

BTW, noticed in Target the other night, GW Platinum which includes the core game, Nightfall and whatever that other dealio is for like $39.99.
