Disbron is 22 and Onwiththeshow is 17, both popped the Thug achievement.  Disbron moved up a ton in just 1 game against some level 15 guys we made and boosted up.

WE RULE!!!

If Friday was major, today was earth-shattering.  We finished up with THREE new Kinpins: Disbron, Speleo and Scofield all popped the achievement, and Slim Pizza Boy is just around the corner.

Scofield had to drop probably an hour before he got Kingpin, but we made a bit of progress after he left by teaming EVIL up with Disbron & me.  Unfortunately, our accounts are starting to drop fairly rapidly, and AceOfJokers is not ranking up fast at all (maybe a rank per game).  I think Disbron and I are around 18/19 and Ace is only at 16 or so.

Just after Disbron got Kingpin he wasn’t losing rank fast at all.  This might have been due to his not dying very much (he held back and let the others get killed).  Based on that, our winning formula for Wed should be Scofield + Disbron + Speleo on the losing team and Slim Pizza Boy + someone on the winning team.  Scofield hangs back while Disbron & Speleo get fragged.  Hopefully Scofield will keep his rank while Disbron & I will be on the way out.

Probably the right move is to put Ace of Jokers on the winning side.  At this point it looks like he’s having the most trouble ranking up, so we can keep him with whoever else is ranking until he hits Kingpin.  After Slim Pizza Boy pops Kingpin we may need to make a judgment call about who goes next.  Most likely it will be EVIL, since his losses make him rank more slowly.  It’s going to be better to get him in earlier matches before Kingpins derank too much.  This will also give us a chance to take advantage of OnWithTheShow’s second account.  If this seems to be going badly, though, it might also be worth boosting Show up first so that EVIL has one more fresh Kingpin to go against.  Regardless, we have a winning strategy, and everyone is going to get their achievements.

That said, we’re going to need to close the doors on people who expressed interest but haven’t showed to any of these sessions.  The people who have participated have invested probably 20 hours or more and numerous accounts toward making this happen.  It’s unfair for anyone to jump in this late and expect to have Kingpin handed to them.  Here’s out official list:

I’m in a bit of an awkward position with Jack Burton 78.  He’s a good guy and has been eager to help, but didn’t have the game on hand.  He tried to pick up a copy over the weekend but was unable to locate one.  He’s planning to pick it up for Wednesday, but now that we’ve made, I think, unexpectedly rapid progress I don’t expect the rest of the gang is going to be too eager to bring him in (same reasons as anyone else).  I’m still willing if-and-only-if he has the game before Wed, but I think the fair thing to do is put it to a group vote.

So, apologies to anyone who wanted in and didn’t make it, but this has been well-advertised and I’ve gone out of my way to include people who made an effort to show up.  Even if you don’t get the achievement I have provided you with a well-documented, proven method to get it, and believe me that counts for a LOT.

congrats!

I’m just hopin that it’s not going to take a lot of extra work to get my achievement.  I think I’m a 13 now and Ace is a 16 and Slim is up in the 20’s somewhere.  I’ll probably end up going dead last, oh well.  lol  I think my account needs to go against a Kingpin account for sure, not 15s... so we can try to plan for that.  Luckily we’re half done (probably more than that) so that counts for something.  I can make another new account that we can boost up.  I just hope we don’t have a to boost a fake tag to Kingpin for me.  lol

Thats really cool that you giuys are finally getting this achievement.  I thought about picking this up a while back but I never did.  It seems like the only time you guys play this (except tonight) I’m on call.  Oh well, maybe next time (yeah right).  Grats on that tough achievement guys.

Well all of us poppped it finally last night.  I wouldn’t mind letting you rank off my account since I’m still pretty high up there if you were to get the game.  I seriously can’t wish this game on anyone though.  The rest of the acheivements aren’t Avatar-like either.

Yeah, saying Kingpin popped last night is an understatement.  We got, let’s see, 5 new Kingpins including ranking up OutInTheDark to a maxed-out level 50!  He ranked up so fast that Kingpin popped before Killa or Gangsta.  Cheater!!  Lol.

Last night started out a little awkwardly.  Chiguy, who had posted a request on the 3v forums for help with Kingpin, tried to launch his own effort yesterday, but was counting on help from several people that had been boosting with us.  We tried to sort out a way to make everyone happy without sabotaging either effort, but in the end we basically had to ask those guys to sit on the sidelines and let us finish up.  Thanks, Scofield, for pointing out that two groups doing this at the same time would result in matchmaking collisions that would just hurt everyone.  Took a couple times for that to sink in, lol.

Well, it turns out we were able to do more than help those guys.  I negotiated with latecomer Jack Burton to rank up with us & then help out Chiguy’s group since none of us would nbeed him to derank.  At least that was the original plan.  We paired Jack with Ace (21, lol), and Jack hit Kingpin levels in just a few games while Ace was still crawling toward the finish line.  So we swapped Jack onto the losing team and invited OutInTheDark along for a free ride.  He rocketed up like nothing we’ve seen before and won a couple more than he needed, putting him at an astronomical level 50 in what, 4 games?  Those guys should have NO rouble ranking up now.

Tone: if you’re still waffling with the idea of doing this achievement, get the game NOW and catch those guys before they derank.

Yeah, man now is the time.  You will lose your chance once my rank plummets back down.  You could get it in 30 minutes right now.  I can’t speak for everyone else but I don’t mind losing some matches to you, but we need 5 total players to do this.

so what about ’on with the show’? who is going to help him if everyone is deranking? those other guys dont owe him anything.
