Actually, all my Shadowmoor decks are modded to a slight degree but can easily go back to the stock configuration.  On Monday I modified my Elven Swarm deck... I’d love to try it against a goblin deck sometime head-to-head.  Y’all will probably be seeing a lot of this one as I tune it in.

@Trifuse-- Sorry to inform you this, but that awesome combination move with your Planeswalker is completely illegal.  Thought I should let you know before you tried it on Chris.  You’re only allowed to use one of the abilities on the card per turn.  Apparently Planeswalkers aren’t really all that overpowering.

I think that after tomorrow, next Sunday, June 8th will be the new LEGACY night with the OUTLAW.  Sunday, June 15th will be the Tacoma Hubbers Summer Frag.  The next Gathering will be on Sunday, June 22nd.   With such a long delay, we will probably get back on track with Kal Zoreck.  This weekend he has the kids and won’t be with us until the evening tomorrow.  By waiting three weeks to play again, Kal’s weekend should be free to come meet us in the afternoon.

Yeah, I looked this up the following morning...I had a feeling that this was way to strong of a combination.

Had a blast on the June 1st.  BTW, Cyber...I have a booster pack for you.  Everyone got one.  We had a new guy show up, Manny.  He’s a PS3 gamer as well.  So I gave him this website address.   All the usual suspects showed up, hope to see the same guys in three weeks.  Later!

Outlaw and I wanted to put an idea up for debate on the upcoming gathering. We were thinking of doing a draft style tournament. This would require 10 bucks from each player on the day of the tourny. With this 10 dollars each player is buying 3 booster packs (@ 3 bucks a pack courtisy of The Baseball Card Shop in South Hill, compare with 3.95 @ ANY other card shop). We can do 4 booster packs each player for prize support as well. Your ten dollars includes tax as well.

Each draft begins with each player opening one of their booster packs selecting one card then passing the remaining pack to the alternating left/right until all packs have been distibuted. From the cards drafted in this manner each player constructs a 40 card minimum deck (lands should be brought, some will be provided). After all players are done building a deck, the tournament ensues in a normal fashion.

This is a fun way to collect some new cards at an affordable price, switch it up from our boring old decks, and be challenged with building a deck on the fly.

Anyone interested in this idea should post here or let Outlaw or I know. This is so we know how many boosters packs to buy ahead of time (for discount) if this idea flies. Also, what set we use can also be debated...

@Outlaw - Cool.  Thank you.  I’ll get it at the Frag.

@Trifuse - Great idea; I’m certainly down for this.  As for packs I would like to see something older that most of us might not have really seen much of such as the Kamigawa sets.  I only suggest this because I personally like to see a variety and everyone is well versed in the Morningtide sets.  A draft with unfamiliar cards lends yet another element to the draft... no one really knows what types of cards are available or what tactics to use.  Really put the deck building skills to the test!  But that’s just my two cents.  Regardless of what set we use, I’m in.

I think we should definetely put a poll up for what set(s) to play with if we can get enough players to sign up.

Outlaw get Kal to comment on this thread!

We will be getting together this coming Sunday at THE GAME MATRIX.  Trifuse is going to check out some prices on booster packs and then we’ll discuss on what we want to do for a booster draft on Sunday, July 6th.

On Sunday, July 6th, we will be getting together as usual at THE GAME MATRIX.  At 7PM we will be doing a booster draft.  We bought a brick of Future Sight.  For 8 people, it should cost us each 12.65 USD.
